Black Koyo

Black Koyo is a Gnawa music group based in Brussels, led by Maalem Hicham Bilali, who was born in Fez to a Moroccan mother and a father of Senegalese descent. Introduced to the Gnawa tradition at a very young age by Master Hamid Dkaki, Hicham carries on this legacy while infusing it with a contemporary energy. Driven by the deep sound of the guembri, the rhythms of the qraqeb, and ancestral chants, Black Koyo offers a musical journey between Morocco and West Africa, blending tradition, spirituality, and an openness to the world.
