General
Where is Gula Gula located?
The festival will take place at the Ruiterijcomplex in Vilvoorde, a castle embraced by the lush Drie Fonteinen domain — 50 hectares of greenery that seamlessly fuse nature and human imagination. Together, the castle and its park form an enchanting setting, the perfect canvas for experimentation.
On Saturday, the festival unfolds exclusively within the castle and its courtyard, while on Sunday it expands into the park.
What are the dates and opening hours?
- Saturday 13 September: 14:00 – 4:00 (music at 16:00)
- Sunday 14 September: 12:00 – 21:00
Is there a minimum age to enter the festival?
No, all ages are welcome! Especially our Sunday program keeps both the youngest and older visitors in mind. We invite all generations to come and experience the festival in their own way — hopefully with a touch of wonder.
Practical
Will there be food and drinks?
Yes, there will be two local food partners offering a wide variety of quality food and drink options: Mama Suzie (Jamaican) and Chez Mahesh (Indian).
With community at the heart of our festival, we also begin and end the festival with a communal meal. A table where everyone is welcome to join: from the front-row dancer to the production leader, from the entrance steward to the bar volunteer, from performer and musician to the passerby who’s letting his dog out in the park.
On Sunday evening from 18:00 to 19:30, we break bread at the final supper. Homemade by Janne Wantens, served with dips in every colour and flavour, a cheerful, colourful mix of diversity and stories.
Is the festival wheelchair friendly?
We are doing our best to make the festival accessible to all, but cannot guarantee that moving around in a wheelchair will be easy. The courtyard has cobblestones for example, but there won't be any stairs to reach any stages.
Will there be lockers on the festival?
The festival will not offer lockers or a cloakroom.
Will there be a campsite?
Because of logistical reasons of this being our first edition, we decided to not host a campsite this year. Most probably there’ll be one next year.
I've lost an item at the festival: what do I do?
We came across some items that got lost in the chaos. Find them all here, and drop us a message if anything's yours.
I'm having issues with my tickets. Help!

Community
Do you accept volunteers?
YES! Gula Gula festival is 100% volunteer ran. If you have an interest to volunteer, please find more information in and add your name to this spreadsheet (don't forget your phone number and email address). We hope to welcome you to our team!
I can't afford to buy a ticket.
We would like for as many people as possible to join our festivities. That's why we offer community tickets for Saturday (4 for the price of €100) through presale.
Presale closes at Saturday 14:00. Tickets will still be available at the door for €43 on Saturday (€32 before 19:00) and for €48 combi.
On Sunday we have a pay-what-you-can principle, with options ranging from €6 to €16.
If you want to join but prefer a social rate, send us a message on Instagram or an email to hello@gulagula.be.
