Jacob Hus
Jacob is a musician and creator based in Brussels who plays viola and live electronics. His music often emerges from improvisation, weaving together small melodic fragments with field recordings in an ongoing search for connection with the audience.
Drawing from his background in classical, jazz, and electronic music, he experiments with new forms and sonic landscapes. His work focuses on creating immersive experiences in which dramaturgy, tension arcs, and audience engagement take center stage.
As an improviser, Jacob continuously seeks direct interaction with his surroundings. His improvisations on viola and electronics reflect the space and audience around him, making the connection feel almost physical.
In 2024, he created his first performance based on Rothko Chapel by Morton Feldman. Alongside his own creations, Jacob works as a composer for dance and theatre productions , for film, and for various bands.
