Growing older, old habits and interests make way for exciting new passions, some of which only plant a little seed that develops slowly, while others flow in and out rapidly. Likewise, specific sounds create a backbone through basalt’s evolution as a dj, while temporary inspirations bubble up and mirror new energies. Lately, while his catalog of eclectic bassline synergies never ceases to develop, a long but slowly nourished seed that has been growing in the back of the garden started to blossom and gain attention, leading to his expression of a more personal and emotional connection to music. Humble and grounded, but playfull just the same, Basalt takes you on a journey any time he steps behind the decks, with percussive rhythms always accompanying the ride.
